Tamisha has spent eleven years at KFC India. She started in consumer insights and now leads integrated brand marketing there, after stints at Nestlé and Kantar before that. She’s one of the people who helped KFC India stop sounding like a corporation online and start sounding like a person. I reached out after reading one line of hers: the more AI you use, the more human you need to get. This whole conversation is us pulling on that thread.
We get into why brands need to quit broadcasting and actually hold a conversation, and why your comment section is basically a free focus group if you bother to read it. Tamisha makes a strong case that for a young brand the founder is the brand, and that legacy companies like KFC are now working hard to get back what startups already have by default. She also explains how KFC brought AI into its content without sliding into slop. The rule is simple. Humans decide what to say, AI helps make it. Don’t outsource the thinking.
The part I keep coming back to is how she ties brand work to revenue. She talks about a quarter with no brand activations where even their core value offer started selling less, because nobody was talking about the brand. Her line on culture and commerce stuck with me too. Culture puts credits into the brand account and commerce draws from it, so if you only do commerce you eventually hit zero. She also has opinions on chatbots, on personalization that crosses into creepy, and on why Gen Z can smell a fake brand voice from a mile away.
Thank you, Tamisha, for being this open about what works inside one of India’s biggest food brands and what you’re still unlearning. Watching you build KFC India’s voice on social has been fun from the outside, and hearing the thinking behind it was even better. You can find Tamisha on LinkedIn to see all of her working activities.
