I woke up to my first paid Substack subscriber today, and yes, it was only $9. But the money was not the part that affected me.
That one subscriber was proof that I have something to say that another person is willing to invest in! It showed me that making money online is not only for younger people, established creators, or everybody except me. There might actually be room for me at the table, too!! And that is huge to me!
Then later in the day, I saw a photographer announce that she was quitting after 20 years. She talked about AI, the economy, and the photography market being too saturated. I understood why she felt ready for something different, but I do not believe saturation means there is no opportunity left.
A saturated market can be proof that people want what you offer. You do not need every customer. You only need the people who value the way YOU do it.
In this video, I’m talking about:
• Waking up to my first paid Substack subscriber
• What that first $9 actually meant to me
• Why a saturated market can be a good sign
• Why AI is not taking every valuable client
• The brief moment when I wanted to quit photography, too
• Learning to follow the breadcrumbs toward my future self
• Building a daily routine around the woman I am becoming
This is Day 9 of documenting My Road to Abundance. I am sharing the process while I am still in it, before I have everything figured out.
If you have been waiting for proof that there is room for you, let this be it.
What is one small breadcrumb you have received recently that made you believe you might be on the right path? Tell me in the comments!
