This experiment examines socially aware navigation when a person approaches the Unitree G1 during an active navigation task. Configuration D combines real-time social perception, navigation supervision, verbal explanations, and human–robot dialogue. The objective is to evaluate whether the robot can detect the approaching social conflict, interrupt its navigation, confirm a stable physical stop, and initiate an appropriate interaction with the person. The experiment also examines the coordination between social decisions, Nav2 cancellation, robot motion monitoring, and dialogue management. Experimental setup: Configuration: D – Social Navigation with Dialogue Scenario: S3 – Approaching Person and Controlled Stop Robot: Unitree G1 Framework: ROS 2 Humble / Nav2 Interaction: Social explanation and dialogue Main evaluation: Social conflict detection and confirmed physical stop #UnitreeG1 #SocialNavigation #HumanRobotInteraction #Nav2 #RobotSafety #ROS2
