On May 12, 2022, Austin police had Kaitlin Armstrong in an interview room, less than a day after pro cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson was shot dead. Her black Jeep had been caught on a neighbor's camera outside the apartment. Then one wrong date of birth in a police computer made her warrant "not hers," and she walked out the door. Within a week she had sold the Jeep, flown out of the country on her sister's passport, and disappeared into the beach towns of Costa Rica with a new name, new hair and a new nose. It took the U.S. Marshals 43 days and a fake job ad for a yoga teacher to bring her back. Seventeen months later, nineteen days before her trial, she tried to run again. This is the full story, told through the real interrogation footage, police bodycam, courtroom video and the people who were there.
