2000 🇨🇺 Cuba vs China 🇨🇳 🏐 Women Volleyball 🏐 FIVB World Grand Prix

Following 1998, the standards of China and Brazil began to decline. Lang Ping departed and Brazilian players aged. From an audience perspective, the games during 1999-2000 were quite dull. However, Cuba and Russia maintained the highest level of volleyball history. These two teams, if transported to the present day, could still defeat any team. This series is primarily for older volleyball fans to reminisce. I don’t intend to upload any 2000 games initially. Cuba, Russia and South Korea are the only teams I recommend watching. South Korea, in particular, reached their peak in 1999-2000 with all 170-78 height players. Post-Match Commentary : This was a semifinal match. From the second week of the 1996 World Grand Prix until 2001, the Chinese team had not defeated Cuba. This was the legendary Cuban team’s final match against China. After Lang Ping left in 1998, the Chinese team’s performance steadily declined. Years later, the players said there were problems with the management at the time. You could see the same group of players, but under different coaches, their performance was very poor. The Chinese team lost to Cuba twice in the qualifiers. In this match, the Chinese team trailed 0-2. Both sets were won by margins of less than 20 points. In the third set, the Cuban team made errors, likely due to fatigue from playing against China. This allowed the Chinese team to win the set, narrowing the score to 1-2. In the fourth set, the score was 35-33. However, the match lacked intensity throughout. Player #17 Yin Yin (26, 1.83m), played exceptionally well, keeping the score very close. However, I believe the main reason was that the Cuban team played with ease. The Golden Dream Team has been training together for four years. Their teamwork is nothing short of perfect. They only make occasional mistakes, and they are confident in defeating weaker teams like China.
