Since 1993, Forty Carrots Family Center has helped families in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties give their children the strongest possible start. Our mission is to nurture healthy child and family development through research-based, relationship-centered education and mental health services. In this video, CEO Michelle Kapreilian and Chief Program Officer Carla Johanns walk you through our three core programs: Early childhood education: an NAEYC-accredited, play-based preschool for children ages 2 to 5. Parenting education: research-informed classes, play groups, and one-on-one support, offered at our center and at community partner sites across three counties. Mental health: evidence-based therapy for children and families. We believe no parent should have to choose between meeting their basic needs and their child’s mental health. That’s why 96% of families receive our services at little or no cost.
