I Stopped Building Kraken Slayer on Ashe (17/1/5)

Kraken Slayer has been the default Ashe build for a while now, but I think it’s actually holding the champion back. In this game I swapped it out for Yun Tal Wildarrows instead, and the result was a 17/1/5 game with a 22.0 KDA and 170 CS — by far my best Ashe performance in a long time. The short version of why: Kraken Slayer’s bonus damage is locked behind every third attack, which doesn’t line up well with how Ashe actually fights — kiting, slowing, and resetting fights with Volley and crits rather than standing still and stacking attacks. Yun Tal plays into that instead of against it, rewarding the crit-heavy, hit-and-run style Ashe is built around. This isn’t a “one good game” fluke breakdown either — I’ll walk through why the itemization makes sense on paper, not just why this one game went well.
