Claude Code mods are here. I built a mod that blocks rm -rf before Claude can delete your files, plus a worktree sidebar, and I show you how every mod works. Mods came out on October 1. They are small TypeScript extensions for the Claude Code CLI and desktop app. A mod hooks into what Claude is doing, like a tool call, a slash command, or the start of a session. Then it can watch, rewrite, or block that step before it runs. That's how my rm-rf-guard stops a delete and asks which files to keep. You'll learn: The 3 files every Claude Code mod needs (plugin.json, hooks.json, register.ts) Where mods live: your .claude/mods folder, the marketplace, and built-in mods The life of a message, from prompt to tool call to answer What a hook can do: observe, rewrite, or deny The hook chain, and why a blocked command never reaches Claude Code ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Claude Code mods are here 00:46 My worktree sidebar mod 01:16 rm-rf-guard blocks a delete 01:59 Anatomy of a mod 02:57 Where mods live 03:40 Life of a message 04:37 What a hook can do 05:01 The hook chain 05:27 Best mods to try (awesome list) Links awesome-claude-code-mods: https://github.com/karanb192/awesome-... cc-arcade (games while Claude works): https://github.com/sezaakgun/cc-arcade Which mod should I build next?
