Pakxan to Thakhek – Hitchhiking in Laos 🇱🇦 I woke up in Pakxan and got ready around the morning. My plan was simple — leave Pakxan and continue hitchhiking towards Thakhek. 🚐 I headed towards the highway and started looking for a lift. I kept hitchhiking for around 40–50 minutes, but unfortunately, nobody stopped. So I eventually came back to a petrol station and waited there. Then suddenly, I received a call from my dad. 📞 He told me, “Beta, ghar aa jao.” 🇮🇳 At the same time, there was already something running in the back of my mind — I was running very low on Lao currency, and I didn’t have a card or another reliable way to access money. I kept thinking about how I would survive and continue travelling in Laos. 💸 After talking to my dad, I decided that I would return to India and continue my journey again later after arranging a proper card and access to money. So I went back to the same guesthouse where I had stayed before. After reaching there, I booked my flight ticket back to India. ✈️🇮🇳 It was a very unexpected turn in my Laos journey. I had started the day thinking I would hitchhike another 200 KM towards Thakhek, but by the end of the day, I had made the decision to leave Laos because I didn’t have enough currency or a way to access more money.
