This is a recording of a talk given to 'The Friends of Honeywood Museum' based in Carshalton, Surrey.
The talk covers the history and heritage of the textile industry of the River Wandle. It looks at a selection of the people involved from the days of the Mauvillain family to William Morris. The influence of the Huguenots who arrived in the late 1600's and early 1700's is also explored.
The methods used within the industry to print the fabric is covered along with a view of some of the patterns produced.
