Salus Hungariae - Hungarian Levente March for Concert Band (arranged by Adrian Erik Horvath)

Salus Hungariae – Hungarian Levente March is a historic Hungarian march by military bandmaster and composer József Pécsi (Josef Prichystal, 1874–1958). Pécsi became bandmaster of the Imperial and Royal 6th Hungarian Infantry Regiment in 1905 and later continued his musical career in Hungary under his Magyarized name. The march is documented in Hungarian musical sources by 1930, and a Hungarian Radio programme from 1938 identifies it specifically as Salus Hungariae – Magyar levente-induló. Adrián Horváth’s concert band arrangement gives the work a brilliant, full and effective modern wind-band sound while preserving the distinctive character and ceremonial strength of this historic march.
