English Bastar — “The Last Battle of Naxal”? Or the Last Battle of Propaganda? In this video, I respond to and fact-check the claims made by Newspinch in its video “Bastar – The Last Battle of Naxal.” Rather than accepting the state’s narrative at face value, we examine the claims being made about the Naxal/Maoist movement and compare them with the history, political conditions and lived realities of Bastar and its Adivasi communities. This video challenges the deliberate portrayal of Adivasis as helpless, ignorant or merely manipulated subjects with no political agency of their own. It also examines the selective presentation of history, the use of misleading claims and the broader propaganda framework through which the Maoist movement is portrayed. The purpose is not to replace one propaganda narrative with another, but to ask basic questions: What are the facts? What is being left out? Who benefits from a particular version of history? And why are Adivasi political struggles so often presented as something that happens to Adivasis, rather than something they themselves participate in and shape?
