This is a mother's prayer for a daughter who's wandered off down a hard road. The hurt is real and the tears are real, but the porch light is still on, and God knows where you are. It's country with a whole lot of gospel, written for every parent praying their child home, and every child who needs to know there's a road back. "Porch Light Prayer" is from my first EP, Mended Roads, Vol. 1. Pre-save it here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/men... The hurt is real. The tears are real. But this is not where we part. The wrong may weigh so heavy now, The good may feel so far— But I am waiting with the porch light on, And God knows where you are. We’ve both raised our voices We’ve both let pain decide But I don’t want a winner I want you back by my side No finger-pointing can undo it No shame can make you whole Let mercy meet us where we are Let healing take its hold I believe in you! Can you hear me? I believe in you! I still do! Whatever road you’ve wandered down, There is a way back through! You are my daughter, in Jesus’ name! Through every hard choice, my love remains! When you lose your way, there’s a road back home! You don’t have to face this world alone! I’m still your mother, I’m still right here! Praying through the silence, holding you near! I love my children with all I am And I love you just the same If I leave this earth before we mend Remember this, remember my name: You were the best thing that ever happened to me My daughter, my joy, my prayer Whatever comes, wherever you go My love will meet you there.
