Students and staff react to the proposed closure of Cardiff University's School of Music

Music students at Cardiff University arranged a ‘protest busk’ against plans to close the School of Music, as a petition to save the school gains over 22,000 signatures. Music is one of the subjects facing cuts at Cardiff University - alongside nursing, modern languages, ancient history and religion and theology - as it confirmed plans to cut 400 fulltime jobs amid a funding shortfall earlier this week.
