He left Cleveland, Ohio, for Bangkok, Thailand—and says life now feels like “every day is Friday.”
In this episode of Our Life Abroad, Mo sits down with a 32-year-old American military veteran and former teacher who has been living in Bangkok for nearly a year. After a birthday trip introduced him to Thailand, he and a friend decided to leave their jobs and make the move.
We tour his approximately $920-per-month condo at Park Origin and hear what everyday life looks like—from food costs and getting around by motorcycle to working out at Muscle Factory and finding community abroad.
He also shares his experience living in Thailand as a Black American, why he feels safe and at peace in Bangkok, and how moving overseas has helped his money last longer.
In this video:
• A tour of his Bangkok condo
• Why he left America and his teaching career
• His experience with everyday expenses
• Building friendships and finding community
• His advice for people considering a move to Thailand
