Tyreek Hill's own lawyer asks him about the prenup from his first engagement to Keeta. "Uh yes, I was." Then he tells the jury why. This is Day 3 of Lakeeta Hill v. Tyreek Hill, the civil trial in Miami-Dade where Keeta Vaccaro Hill, the NFL star's wife, says eight incidents happened behind closed doors during their marriage. This is a civil case, not a criminal one. Tyreek Hill is not charged with a crime here, he denies the allegations, and nothing in this video is a finding. The jury decides which account carries the greater weight of the evidence. His own lawyer, Christi Bright, starts at the beginning. He grew up in a football household in a small Georgia town of about 200 people, raised mainly by his grandparents, Sundays in the living room with everybody in their jerseys. Then the part he says people do not know: his senior year of high school, he was homeless. He took a job at Wendy's, showered at his aunt and uncle's house and sometimes at his coach's, kept playing like everything was normal, and watched his grandmother, the woman he calls mom, cry every night. He told her he never wanted to see her cry again. That year gave him two goals: be one of the highest paid football players in the world, and create his own family. The first, he says, he accomplished. "As far as the other one, I'm still trying to figure that one out." He says Morgan Stanley manages his money, that he is not a lavish spender, and that every time he steps on the field it is for his kids. Then Keeta. They met in 2019 at a Miami club while he played for the Kansas City Chiefs: the gold grill, the second walk-by. On and off, he says, until he proposed on July 4, 2021, at the all-white party. That engagement did not last. The talks about finances got serious, she went to LA to pursue acting, and the prenup came up. Was he the one asking for it? "Uh yes, I was." He wanted to protect what he had earned for his kids, because without some kind of agreement in place, "it could get wild." He says they went together to his attorney's office in Texas to go over it. And who called the engagement off? "I think it was just a mutual thing." Here is what I am watching. Every answer here comes from his own lawyer's questions, and his testimony is not finished: her side still gets to question him. The prenup and the breakup are his account of the first engagement, before the marriage the allegations come from. In a trial about what happened behind closed doors, does the man who asked for the prenup sound like someone protecting his family, or someone who already saw this coming? --- KEY MOMENTS 0:00 What this video is, and a preview 0:20 Intro 1:20 Video starts 3:52 Homeless his senior year, and nobody knew 9:26 How he met Keeta in 2019 11:23 The engagement: July 4, 2021 14:32 Who wanted the prenup? 17:39 Who called off the engagement? --- COMPLETE CASE COVERAGE justiceisaprocess.com SUBSCRIBE for daily trial coverage.
