A Local Chinese Girl’s Simple Life | Cheap Groceries, Handmade Dumplings & My Low-Paid Past

This is another simple day in my life as a local Chinese woman. Today, I start with a cheap lunch that costs only $1.38, then head to a local supermarket to buy ingredients for homemade dumplings. I spend about $4.70 on groceries and make pork, corn, and mushroom dumplings at home from scratch. While making the dumplings, I also share a little story from my past. I used to work as a kindergarten teacher, and that was actually where I learned how to make dumplings. When I first started working, I earned only about $2,800 a year, and I had to learn how to live carefully and make the most of every bit of money.
