Flüela Wisshorn Summit (3,085 m / 10,121 ft) Starting from Wägerhus on the Flüela Pass road, this ambitious high-alpine tour leads to the prominent peak of Flüela Wisshorn. While the route begins on gentle mountain paths up to the Winterlücke, the upper Northeast Ridge transitions into serious alpine terrain (T5) featuring exposed rock slabs, loose scree, and significant fall hazards. The Route Start & Approach: Begin at the "Wägerhus" PostAuto bus stop along the Flüela Pass road. Follow the well-marked mountain hiking trail (T2) up to the junction at Point 2,350 m. Ascent to Winterlücke: Continue climbing up toward Winterlücke on an easy-to-moderate mountain trail (T2/T3). Northeast Ridge (STRICT ALPINE WARNING): From Winterlücke, follow the Northeast Ridge toward the summit. Terrain quickly becomes technical and alpine. Early in the morning, the rock can be extremely slippery! Crux Section & Summit Push: The upper third contains the route's crux: exposed crossings over steep rock slabs and loose scree/gravel (T5). Absolute sure-footedness, a total head for heights, and alpine routine are required. Follow the final scramble up to the summit of Flüela Wisshorn (3,085 m / 10,121 ft). Return: Descend carefully via the same route back down to Winterlücke and Wägerhus. Refreshment Tip No mountain huts are available along this high-alpine trail. Carry plenty of water and high-energy snacks. Stop by the restaurants at Flüela Pass after your descend! Logistics Note Access: Easily accessible via the PostAuto bus (Flüela Pass line) to the "Wägerhus" stop. Parking options are also available along the pass road.
