The Whitewater Canal - Metamora, Indiana

I had the chance to visit Metamora, Indiana and check out part of the Whitewater Canal. The Whitewater Canal is a historic 76-mile canal located in southeastern Indiana and southwestern Ohio, originally built between 1836 and 1847. It served as a vital link for trade while it was in operation. The towpath was eventually sold to the railroad. If you get a chance to check this place out, I highly recommend it. I The Whitewater Valley Railroad, featured in the opening clip of the video was severely damaged in the August, 2026 flooding and operations have been suspended. Damage was not limited to the track. Engines and rolling stock were also impacted by the flooding.
