Abide in Me: The Hard Half of John 15 Most of Us Skip

"Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away." It is one of the hardest sentences in John 15, and it is only half a sentence. The other half says what happens to the branch that does bear fruit. This video reads the passage slowly, in its own words: what verse 2 says and what it leaves unsaid about what the Father does with each branch, what verse 6 adds and who does what in it, and what the branch itself is told to do. Scripture is quoted word for word from the King James Version. When something is a reading and not the verse itself, the video says so. 0:00 "He taketh away" 1:11 What the Father does 3:20 What men do 5:10 What the branch is told 7:05 What he sets beside "abide" 8:57 The question it leaves 9:50 Prayer Hard passages of the Bible, read slowly.
