Beth Ritter-Guth gives a plenary address, "Avoiding the Zombie Apocalypse: Student Engagement in Higher Education" at OIRT's Annual Technology and Learning Showcase on December 11, 2014. Educational research and pedagogy journals are filled with articles about "student engagement" Evidence is piled all around our cyber libraries indicating that engaged students complete courses, receive higher grades, and graduate on time. But, what exactly does student engagement look like in a F2F or online classroom? This interactive presentation will provide new strategies to engage students.
