Senkosai Festival at Takebe Taisha, Mikoshi, Ships, Fireworks [Deep Japan] by the Last Samurai 船幸祭

The Last Samurai visits Takebe Taisha shrine in Otsu city, Shiga prefecture and introduces Senkosai Festival held on August 17th. The main deity of Takebe Taisha is Yamato Takeru. He headed east to conquer east of Japan in the 2nd century. This festival recreates the scene when Yamato Takeru left Yamato with his fleet of ships to the east. You can see the great view of many Mikoshi parade and sails along the Seta river. You can also enjoy the Japanese drum and beautiful fireworks in the summer night sky.
