Tarobogu shrine, Potala palace of Japan [Deep Japan] 太郎坊宮

The Last Samurai visits Tarobogu shrine in Higashi Omi city, Shiga prefecture and introduces its history and the features. The shrine was established 1400 years ago and it is sometimes called Potala palace of Japan as it stands on the beautiful mountain side like Potala palace. It is known as the shrine of Shugendo. The name, Tarobo comes from the name Tarobo Tengu. On the top of the moutain, there is a huge and holy stone called Meotoiwa.
