Context: A mix featuring jungle techno (not to be confused with jungle tekno or synthetic jungle tekno) and "hardcore jungle", which is basically a way to differentiate the sound from happy hardcore, jungle, and breakbeat hardcore. A good catch-all term for this could just be "hardcore", but most of the time that's associated with happy hardcore and other aggressive styles. This mix features new tracks made with heavy inspiration from the old rave sounds, lots of 4x4 kicks, chopped drum samples, pianos, and vocal samples, but also some new ideas and interpretations that fit very well. Very high energy and going all over the place. History: Lately, a wave of producers have been making rave music in that old, breakbeat hardcore style. In the 90s, breakbeat hardcore imploded and split into what is later known as happy hardcore and jungle(which eventually had a child called drum and bass, but for a while the terms were interchangeable, jungle and drum and bass). For a little while though, even while both happy hardcore and jungle existed, there was an interesting time where the tracks still possessed the serious chopped drum breaks of jungle while also retaining the 4x4 kick and classic rave sounds.
