Breakbeat Hardcore & Belgian Hardcore Techno | Cross Channel Exchange Mix | Short Mixes 01 Converted some audio on my records into digital files and thought I'd give them a test run! This series will be my shorter mixes of well... whatever I feel like. Hopefully I get to making a longer mix of this style of music as it's heavily underrepresented. Also, apologies I didn't include an actual track from Belgium, I thought I did when I made that banner, when I get to my Quadrophonia and T99 records I'll immediately rectify that :) The idea with the name is to represent a "general" sound. Tracklist: 0:00 Zero Zero - Zeroxed [Kickin Records] (1991) 1:59 D-Shake - Tekno Bam (Seismik Overload) [Go Bang!] (1991) 4:51 Euphoria - Genocide (Original Mix) [Quartz] (1992) 5:52 Euphoria - I Like Noise (Vagabond Mix) [Quartz] (1992) 7:49 Project One - It's Driving Me [Rising High Records] (1992) 10:45 D-Shake - Sonic Bogus [Go Bang!] (1991) 12:42 A Homeboy, A Hippy, And a Funki Dredd - Now Is The Future [Rising High Records] (1991) 15:19 Project One - Smokin' [Rising High Records] (1992) 17:10 - Project One - Give It All You Got [Rising High Records] (1992) For promotional use only. All rights reserved to the respective artists and labels. Please support the artists if it's within your means! Context: This set tracks a small piece of that chaotic 1991–1992 transition era before rave genres were really solidified in electronic music. It includes tracks from the UK, The Netherlands, and even the US. Rave music was starting to get faster in this time and slowly morphing into what we know as jungle and hardcore. The tracks tend to be between 125 - 135bpm and include lots of breaks and 4x4 kicks, samples galore, pianos, and big rave-y synth stabs.
