Hello and Welcome to Deaf Talks News!
Let me tell you a small story.
The woman's name is Lakshmi. She lives in Chennai with her husband and two children.
Every Sunday she goes to the market with ₹500.
In January this year with ₹500 she bought Rice. Onions. Tomatoes. Vegetables. Milk. Oil.
Her bag was full. Her family had enough food for the week.
September this year Same Lakshmi. Same market. Same ₹500.
But now Rice costs more. Onions cost double. Vegetables cost more.
She buys the same things but the money finishes early.
Her bag is only half full.
Her husband's salary did not go up. Lakshmi did not spend more.
But her ₹500 can buy less food than before.
This is called inflation.
Prices go up. Your money stays the same. So your money buys less.
Food prices in Tamil Nadu went up 10.62%.
And yesterday official Indian government data says Tamil Nadu has the highest inflation in all of India.
Why are prices rising?
Part of it is global; the war in the Middle East made fuel and fertilizer costly everywhere.
All over India inflation is rising.
But Tamil Nadu’s rise is the highest and why because the new government is not planning properly.
If this continues, Tamilnadu will suffer. This data is released by the Indian government and link is given below.
