Monday, 7:44AM, Takarazuka Station. Packed trains are part of the deal. Trains around Osaka Station run at about 140% capacity in the morning. Tokyo is 160%, so people say Osaka has it easier. That "easier" is still 140%. In Japan the congestion rate is measured by whether you can read a newspaper. At 150% you can open one comfortably. At 200%, bodies touching. For six minutes this morning I couldn't reach my phone at all. Three trains, a five-minute delay, one closed staircase. I left home earlier than usual, and still sat down to breakfast at exactly 9:00. Bread and coffee from a convenience store, ¥611 ($3.82). Takarazuka to Honmachi: 60 minutes, of which 33 on a train. The rest is waiting and walking. Waiting counts as commuting — it just isn't what I get paid for. And at lunch, udon alone in a bowl bigger than my face. How crowded is the commute in your country? Tell me in the comments. 【About this channel】 On this channel, I share everyday life in Takarazuka City, Japan, through vlogs. After work walks, simple meals, and quiet time spent alone at night — nothing special, just daily life flowing together with the calm atmosphere of this town.
