Stop Complaining – Accept God’s Will

The Book of Habakkuk stands out among the Minor Prophets because it records a direct, raw dialogue between a questioning prophet and a Holy God. Major (5 -Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel-Judgment of nations, Messianic) and Minor Prophets (12-such as Joel Hosea Amos Zechariah Malachi, events sins warnings) differ in the length and scale of their writings, but both equally deliver God’s message. Habakkuk’s writings took place during the oppressive reign of King Jehoiakim. Unlike his father, who was a King Josiah who feared God and ruled well; known as a Puppet King, was placed on the throne at age 25 by Pharaoh Necho, he taxed the land to give money according to the command of Pharaoh, exacted the silver and gold from the people, every one according to his assessment (2 Kings 23:35); Jehoiakim was an oppressive, idolatrous, and deeply wicked ruler whose actions lead Judah's destruction and exile to Babylon. Habakkuk witnessed the rapid spiritual decay of Judah and the terrifying rise of the ruthless Babylonian (Chaldean- Daniel 2:2 describes them among the king’s wise men magicians, astrologers, and advisors to the king Nebuchadnezzar). Deeply troubled by the rampant injustice around him and God's apparent silence, the prophet boldly confronts the God Almighty with his doubts. God never does anything randomly—every command, every feast, every appointed time carries deeper meaning. Every word, every action, every move, every gift, every talent has a Holy Divine purpose. In other word, everything happens according to God’s Permissible Will; Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. (Acts 14:16)
