Deep in its camp, Sabin and Shadow watch General Leo tell a wounded soldier that before he is a soldier, he is a living man. Recalled to the capital, Leo leaves one order for the officer staying behind: nothing dishonorable. The enemy are people too. That officer is Kefka. The moment Leo is gone, he smiles.
