Our day begins early in the morning as we head into the bush to cut grass for roofing our gazebo. After returning home, Papa Mukibi gets busy roofing the gazebo and cleaning the compound, while mama Mukibi washes clothes. Meanwhile, Mama Kereya visits the garden to harvest fresh greens for our family meal. After harvesting the vegetables, Mama Kereya prepares a delicious traditional Ugandan meal of fresh greens, silverfish, and posho. From gathering roofing grass to working around the homestead, preparing fresh food, and sharing a meal together, every moment shows the beauty of simple African village life.
