☀️ Maa Kushmanda | Day 4 Navratri 2026 | Sacred Mantra Chant & Dhyana

Night 4 of Navaratri 2026 (October 14): a devotional chant to Kushmanda, "she who creates the universe with her smile", the fourth of the nine forms of Durga (Navadurga). She is Adi Shakti, the primordial Shakti: she dwells at the center of the sun and from there releases her energy across the whole cosmos. She grants her devotees prosperity, peace and deep happiness. 🔔 IN THE CHANT oṃ śrī kūṣmāṇḍāyai namaḥ oṃ hrīṃ śrī kūṣmāṇḍā durgāyai namaḥ oṃ śrīṃ mahālakṣmyai namaḥ oṃ duṃ durgāyai namaḥ Dhyana shloka (meditation verse): surāsampūrṇa-kalaśaṃ rudhirāplutam eva ca dadhānā hasta-padmābhyāṃ kūṣmāṇḍā śubhadāstu me 🙏 MEANING Holding in her lotus hands a vessel full of nectar and drenched in blood, may Kushmanda be gracious to me. ☀️ WHO IS KUSHMANDA She rides a lioness and has eight arms holding a lotus, a kamandalu (water pot), a bow, an arrow, a pot of nectar (amrita), a disc (chakra) and a rosary (japamala). According to tradition she dwells at the heart of the Sun to give it light. She stands for vitality, health and prosperity and is associated with the heart chakra (Anahata). Her favorite offering is petha, the ash gourd sweet. 🌙 NAVADURGA, ONE FORM EACH NIGHT Navaratri 2026 runs from October 11 to 19, with Vijayadashami (Dussehra) on October 20.
