Today I’m cooking a traditional Kenyan dish called Muthokoi — maize that has been crushed and prepared together with beans. I cooked this delicious Kenyan meal the traditional way, outdoors over firewood in a clay pot. 🌽🔥 First, I boiled the muthokoi in the clay pot, then added red and yellow beans and allowed everything to cook until tender. Next came the delicious flavours: golden fried onions, fresh green capsicum, tomatoes, the cooked maize and beans, and fresh coconut water. After simmering everything together, I finished it with fresh dhania (coriander). The result was absolutely incredible — hearty, creamy, flavourful and so satisfying! ❤️ This is a taste of traditional Kenyan village cooking, using simple ingredients and an old-fashioned cooking method over firewood. If you enjoy traditional African food, outdoor cooking, village recipes and authentic Kenyan cuisine, welcome to Traditional Kitchen Africa. 🌍❤️ Watch until the end to see the finished Muthokoi served hot! #Muthokoi #kenyanfood #africanfood #traditionalcooking #villagecooking #kenyancuisine #outdoorcooking #firewoodcooking #claypotcooking #africanvillagecooking #traditionalafricanfood #maize #beans
