NAB investigations have raised serious questions over Hawks Bay Scheme 42, New Malir Housing Scheme, Taiser Town, Shah Latif Housing Scheme and the Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project. Around 200,000 families reportedly paid billions of rupees for plots, while thousands of allotted plots were allegedly occupied, illegally transferred or left without basic infrastructure. The Lyari Expressway resettlement project also faces allegations of plots being diverted to builders and unauthorised individuals. NAB has now sought key records from the Malir Development Authority and begun on-ground inspections.
