Mochi (もち, 餅). You’ve probably heard it, and maybe even tried it. Mochi is one of the staple foods in Japanese New Year, some people make it, and some people buy it for the celebration. Jiji has made it every year, just before the family arrives for the New Year. I really enjoyed watching the whole process from grain to smooth textured mochi, and I hope you enjoy it too! Seeing Jiji make it was very reminiscent of my childhood in Japan, and in the words of Marie Kondo, "It sparked joy!" Know somewhere I should visit? Let me know in the comments below! Hi, I'm Nadia and I love to combine travel and food whenever I can :) Come explore Japan with me in this new and exciting chapter of my life. I love nature, and animals and discovering new vegan restaurants and cafes! I hope to see you again, じゃあまたね! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Video no. 25 | January 2023 ◆ INSTAGRAM: @konnoblob www.instagram.com/konnoblob ◆ FOOD INSTA:   / thejapaneserose   ◆ Blog: www.thejapaneserose.com ◆ TIKTOK: @konnoblob www.tiktok.com/@konnoblob Music: https://share.epidemicsound.com/1k73lg For business enquiries ◆ EMAIL: konnoblob@gmail.com Current sub count: 166
