If you are a resident or long-term visitor planning to depart the Philippines, you must settle specific departure obligations before you can fly. Foreign residents and tourists who have stayed in the country for 6 months or more are required to obtain an Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC/Exit Clearance) from the Bureau of Immigration to prove they have no derogatory records. This immigration clearance can be processed in advance online via the Bureau of Immigration e-services or at their office, though certain resident visa holders can settle it in cash at the airport's immigration counter on departure day. Additionally, if you have been in the country for a year or more, a separate Philippine Travel Tax (paid to TIEZA) must be settled, which you can pay online at least 3 days before your flight or directly at the airport TIEZA counter before passing through passport control. #PhilippinesTravel #ExpatLifePhilippines #TravelTax #ImmigrationPH #PHExitClearance #PinoyTravelTips #ManilaAirport #TravelGuide2026 ‪@ADIII_Explorer‬ #adiiiexplorer #airportnightmare #airportchaos
