A walk through Kappabashi Dougu Street — Tokyo's "Kitchen Town," where restaurant owners come for knives, pots, lanterns and the famous plastic food samples — filmed the day before the 41st Kappabashi Dougu Festival (October 6–12, 2026). Kappa, the mischievous river spirits of Japanese folklore, are everywhere here: statues, signs, and Sogenji, the "Kappa Temple" tied to the legend behind the street's name. From there we wander the backstreets past Akiba Shrine (the origin of the name Akihabara), Yasaki Inari Shrine and Shugenji Temple, and finish at Shitaya Shrine as night falls.
No talking, no music — just the sounds of the town.
Route: Kappabashi Dougu Street → Shitaya Shrine
Weather: Cloudy, 21°C / 70°F, filmed in October 2026
