ED Action involving Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi has become a major political and legal development after the Enforcement Directorate searched 21 premises linked to Jarkiholi, his family members and associates on September 9 and 10, 2026. The searches were conducted under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in connection with alleged undisclosed overseas investments, cross-border business links and suspected financial irregularities. During the ED Action, the agency said it seized around ₹3.3 crore in Indian currency and foreign currency worth approximately ₹15 lakh, along with documents and digital devices. The ED has also alleged that documents found during the searches relate to overseas investments and foreign entities connected with mining assets in Africa. These are investigation-stage allegations and have not been established as findings of guilt. The latest ED Action has also triggered discussion about whether the investigation could expand into proceedings under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
