The Canadian Shield Is Hiding Something Most Canadians Never Notice

The Canadian Shield is hiding far more than rock, spruce, and lakes. I’m counting down twenty astonishing secrets beneath this ancient landscape—from two-billion-year-old water under Timmins to Sudbury’s asteroid scar and the ground around Hudson Bay that is still rising today. Drawing on my years teaching geology and working as a park warden, I’ll reveal the extraordinary stories written into some of Earth’s oldest rocks. If you’re from Sudbury, Timmins, Thunder Bay, Yellowknife, or anywhere in between, some of these hidden wonders may be beneath your feet right now. #CanadianShield #Geology #Canada #EarthScience #CanadianHistory #Nature #Science
