This subject is mainly taught in the army and in various applied self-defense schools. There are many methods to perform this exercise, and we will refer to only a limited number of the methods and analyze the risks of each of them. As you mostly know there are American and Russian machine guns like M-15 and Kalashnikov. When some of them have a rear butt and other models do not. So today we are discussing models that have a rear butt. So what's the main problem with a front rifle threat? First of all, a rifle is held with two hands, so the grip is very strong. Therefore, even the time required to neutralize this threat must be short and powerful. Most methods usually show 3 stages of disarming a rifle. When the attacker usually does not resist and does not try to go backward with the rifle while executing a drill. And this is precisely the problem with these exercises. And we define a period of time from performing an exercise until its completion as TTR. That is the Time To Response to the attacker. And using our risk assessment model we will try to analyze several scenarios. So stay with me, with you Gil Peleg from the Fitness Warriors Club, and enjoy watching. To understand the concept of TTR, Time To Response to the attacker, let's see what the average speed of the bullet is. Obviously, the caliber of the bullet and the length of the barrel have a big meaning but let's talk in terms of an average, that is, about 2000 FPS. Just think once the trigger is pulled if it is a rifle threat scenario, the bullet hits the target instantly! The victim won't even have time to think! A second problem is the grip of the rifle. That is, the attacker holds it tightly with two hands. Let's just say that the victim found the right moment to deflect the barrel, then what would be the attacker's immediate reaction? That is, instinctively moving back with the rifle and firing immediately. In our videos so far we have seen three stages of handling the problem. i.e. neutralizing a rifle threat. As a result, according to our mathematical model the risk of survival is very high. That is, it is a stage of moving the barrel, performing the neutralizing blow, and only if all this worked and victim in life, then disarming the rifle. We assume that already in the second stage the victim is in a problem of infinite high survival risk and why? This scenario is very similar in its philosophy to a utopian Krav Maga scenario where a knife threat is neutralized by braking and a neutralizing blow to the throat or jaw with the other hand. It is clear that this scenario belongs to the history of the birth of the method in the 80s of the previous century and does not reflect the reality of today. ✅Dear friends, hope you enjoyed it.
