Episode 2 of Spiritual Pilgrim — a day trip from Tokyo to the beautiful coastal town of Kamakura, Japan. 🇯🇵 This was actually the first travel video we ever filmed. At the time, we were simply experimenting, trying something completely new, and figuring out what kind of stories we wanted to tell. Since then, the style and approach of Spiritual Pilgrim have continued to evolve — but we thought it would be fun to share where the journey began. We took an early morning train from Tokyo and spent the entire day exploring Kamakura — searching for its spiritual side, discovering beautiful temples and shrines, wandering through traditional streets and gardens, finding delicious vegetarian and vegan food, and ending the day beside the ocean. From the peaceful bamboo grove and Zen garden of Hokokuji Temple, to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Komachi-dori, and the enormous Great Buddha of Kamakura, this was a day filled with beauty, history, spirituality, and unexpected discoveries. We also found some wonderful vegan sushi at Chirashiya, explored the local markets and streets, and ended our journey at the Kamakura seaside before taking the last train back to Tokyo. It was only one day in Kamakura, but it left a lasting impression. Places featured: • Hokokuji Temple & Bamboo Grove • Hokokuji Tea House • Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine • Genji Pond • Komachi-dori • Kotoku-in Temple & Great Buddha • Kamakura Seaside • Chirashiya Vegan Sushi • And more This is Spiritual Pilgrim — Episode 2, a journey through spirituality, pilgrimage, vegetarian food, local culture, and authentic experiences around the world.
