VFY | Electronic mix | Tone | Tbilisi

This time we went to a real თონე. A place where the technology hasn’t changed for over 5,000 years. Honestly, we haven’t found a better way since the Bronze Age. You still need a pit dug into the ground, hot clay, fire, and someone fast enough to slap the dough onto the wall before it burns. Long before modern clubs, the neighborhood ‘tone’ was already the original social hub where people gathered and stayed warm around the fire. Bringing electronic music here doesn’t feel like a contrast. It’s just one part of our cultural heritage folding into another. At the decks was VFY (Vision From Yesterday), the side project of Erekle Tabukashvili, better known as Tobako Tween. With over a decade in the scene, residencies at Kibe Batumi and sets at Bassiani and Khidi, he went deep into classic trance, progressive house and breakbeat for this session. 90s progressive cuts bouncing off 400°C clay walls.
