Anne Boleyn Miscarried — 111 Days Later, Henry VIII Had Her Executed On January 29, 1536, Catherine of Aragon was buried at Peterborough. On the same day, at Greenwich, Anne Boleyn lost the child she was carrying, a baby the imperial ambassador said "seemed to be a male". One hundred and eleven days later, Anne was executed on Tower Green. This documentary follows those 111 days: Henry VIII's jousting fall, the rumours of witchcraft, the words reportedly spoken at Anne's bedside, Jane Seymour's rise, Thomas Cromwell's quarrel with the queen, and the impossible dates in the charges against her. We also look at the later legends, from the "deformed child" story to modern medical theories, and ask whether the miscarriage really sealed Anne's fate. Sources: Letters and Papers, Foreign and Domestic, Henry VIII, vol. 10 (1536), including the dispatches of Eustace Chapuys; Calendar of State Papers, Spain; Charles Wriothesley's Chronicle; Edward Hall's Chronicle; Nicholas Sander (1585); Eric Ives, "The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn"; Retha Warnicke; G.
