Welcome to Douglas Park, one of Vancouver's historic neighbourhood parks, located in South Cambie, British Columbia, Canada. Join me on a peaceful 4K walking tour through Douglas Park during the colourful autumn season of October 2026. History of Douglas Park: Douglas Park was established in 1926 by the former Municipality of Point Grey and was named in honour of Sir James Douglas, the first Governor of the Colony of British Columbia. Before becoming a public park, the land had a fascinating history. During the 1870s, it was used for logging activities and later became agricultural land. Chinese market gardeners cultivated vegetables here before the area was transformed into a public park in 1926. A park pavilion was built in 1928, and the site gradually developed into an important recreational centre. In 1966, a new recreation facility was established, eventually becoming today's Douglas Park Community Centre. Today, Douglas Park features beautiful mature trees, large grassy fields, walking paths, playgrounds, sports facilities, and community recreation spaces. The park continues to be an important gathering place for residents and visitors. Enjoy the peaceful scenery, colourful autumn leaves, and relaxing atmosphere in this 4K walking tour.
