雲母 (KIRARA) is a broken face of rock seen close in bright clear daylight, and set in it a thick block of mica parting into leaf after leaf after leaf. Every one of those partings runs the same single way through the block, and they all lie parallel to one another. Across that one direction the block does not part anywhere at all: it is solid, with no crack and no seam of any kind. Each leaf that comes away is the same flat sheet as the one before it, no thinner and no different from it — so there is no last one, and no end to it. Warm golden brown turning to bright silver on the faces that catch the light, rust ochre rock around it, and even deep between the leaves the shadow stays golden brown. Apart along one way, whole along every other way. One hour of Japanese zen ambience for meditation, mindfulness and inner calm. It parts along one direction only, and never along any other. Shakuhachi is apart along the one way and whole along every other way. It is parted again along the same one direction. Piano parts it one way and koto parts it the same way, and the same comes of it, the level staying the same. However many times it is parted, what comes of it is one of the same, and no other direction is ever parted. Silver over golden brown, apart one way only, the same one every time. Shakuhachi returns, the same one direction as before, unhurried, still no end to it. One long string tone lies across many of the same, all along one direction. Not one of them is the last one. Sparse, minimal, quiet, still — apart one way, whole every other way. It is made for anyone looking for a quiet space to sit inside — to fall asleep to, to work in the background of, or simply to rest attention on for a while — and for anyone who returns to stillness on purpose. ▸ Best played quietly, and for a long time. Nothing here comes to a last one. ▸ The whole series — MA 間:    / @ma.zen.ambience   ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS 0:00 I. Parting Along One Direction Only, Never Along Any Other 5:08 II.
