#EGHRINLecture1 - Geopolitical Shifts, Higher Education and Global Health Partnerships

The first session of the EGHRIN Lectures, held on 17 September 2026, explored how current geopolitical shifts are reshaping higher education, research funding and international partnerships in global health. Drawing on the experience of Jimma University and Ethiopia, Esayas examined the implications of these changes for African research institutions and discussed how more balanced, sustainable and locally led partnerships can be developed.
