He Was There

He Was There Don Loyd ©2026 Verse 1 The road was long, the night was cold carried burdens, growing old I looked for help, a friendly hand In a cold and weary land I called a name, but no one heard I had no comfort, not a word Just a broken spirit, a heavy load Walkin' down that lonely road Chorus But He was there when I needed Him When my last faint light grew dim He was there, His grace would shine Told my soul, "You're still mine" When my strength had come to end My Savior, my dearest friend He was there, yes, He was there When I needed Him, He was there Verse 2 The storm raged on, I feared the wave It was a struggle to be brave I stumbled on, about to fall With no one there to hear my call But in the silence, peace would start He gently healed my wounded heart And in my weakness, I could see His everlasting love for me Chorus But He was there when I needed Him When my last faint light grew dim He was there, His grace would shine Told my soul, "You're still mine" When my strength had come to end My Savior, my dearest friend He was there, yes, He was there When I needed Him, He was there (Outro) He was there... When I needed Him... He was there...
