Karnaprayag Sangam | Origins of Ganga | Episode 6 In this episode of my Panch Prayag Yatra in Uttarakhand, I travel to Karnaprayag - the third of the five sacred confluences of the Alaknanda River. This is where the Pindar River meets the Alaknanda, creating one of the most important river confluences in the Himalayas. The Pindar River originates from the Pindari Glacier, located in the Kumaon Himalayas near the Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot peaks. Karnaprayag also has a fascinating connection with Karna from the Mahabharata. Local traditions say that Karna performed intense penance to Surya Dev at this sacred site. Another popular legend connects Karnaprayag with the final rites of Karna after the Mahabharata war. Karnaprayag is an important town on the Char Dham route and a major gateway towards Badrinath and the higher Himalayas. The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Railway project is also set to transform connectivity to this part of Uttarakhand. This vlog explores Karnaprayag through its rivers, mountains, mythology, history and changing landscape - as we continue our journey through the Panch Prayag of Uttarakhand. 📌 Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction | GMVN Guest House 04:45 - Uma Devi Mandir | Rudraprayag Sangam 09:20 - Shri Krishna Karna Mandir | Evening Stroll 15:00 - Terrace Views at Hotel & Dinner
