1951 Kenmore Sewing Machine Restoration | Cabinet Repair & Handwheel Sewing Test (Part 3) Welcome back to Bespoke By Bill! In Part 3 of this vintage sewing machine restoration project, I continue working on a 1951 Kenmore Model 117.552 sewing machine and its Sears sewing machine cabinet in dark walnut. In this episode, I share the progress I’ve made on the wooden cabinet, including repairing damaged areas with veneer patches and applying Howard’s Restore-A-Finish to help bring the wood’s appearance back to life. I also review the work completed on the sewing machine so far and demonstrate the machine sewing by manually turning the handwheel. This gives us an opportunity to see the machine’s progress as I continue working toward restoring and testing this vintage sewing machine.
