Desire is the 2nd scenario in the Devapala campaign, with the goal being to capture and hold the monument in Kannauj. The strategy is fairly straightforward here, boom for 300 years (can do more or less) on the wonder/king-of-the-hill timer, then build a massive army and go storm the wonder and claim it. While you have the wonder under your control, build 3-4 castles around it, add walls and spam units if necessary. If the wonder is safe, consider raiding your enemies as putting them out of the game will make it easier to defend the wonder in the long run. The first part is booming. best to add town centers in the north corner, or where the northern camp is next to the gold or anywhere along the North-East edge of the map as those areas are plentiful in resources. Get to the Imperial age and grab whatever technologies you need. Ideally, you'll prioritise economic and university upgrades, then military and castle ones. Your army should mainly consist of elephants, elephant archers and rathas, as those should sweep most enemy units. Arbalester and halberdier can be thrown in as support units. Once you're army is ready, go in and claim the hill. You'll want to add some villagers to the area once it is secure to repair the monasteries there, which will give you access to monks yourself, meaning you can now get the three relics on the map and heal your wounded army. Consider adding in castles, towers and walls around your monument to help secure it from future enemy attacks. From here you can either spam units and stall, or if you have excess army, consider attacking the enemies to put them on the backfoot and try to eliminate them to end the scenario quicker. Once both enemies are defeated or the wonder timer runs out while you hold the wonder, victory is yours! Enemies: Pratiharas (Red): They will train mounted units consists of Shrivamsha Riders, Light Cavalry and Camel Riders in order to fight for the struggle of Kannauj. Rashtrakutas (Purple): Amoghavarsha approaches Kannauj from the south with an army of foot soldiers and Elephants.
