RADIOSOL FM Radio Adjustment and Setup Guide
Learn how to use, adjust, and configure the RADIOSOL FM Radio after assembly.
The RADIOSOL radio is built around three main integrated circuits: the RDA5807 FM receiver module, the TDA2822 audio amplifier, and the STC8G1K17 microcontroller.
In this video, we explain the main controls, power options, station search functions, reception threshold settings, power-saving mode, signal strength display, and saved station management.
This guide is designed for users who have already assembled the RADIOSOL FM Radio Soldering Kit and want to understand how to operate and fine-tune the radio.
In this video, you will learn:
• How to identify the main radio controls
• How the RDA5807, TDA2822, and STC8G1K17 are used in the RADIOSOL radio
• How to use battery or USB power correctly
• How to adjust the volume
• How to search for FM stations
• How to enter setup mode
• How to adjust the SN reception threshold
• How to enable or disable power-saving mode
• How to enable the signal strength display
• How to manage the saved station list
• How to manually search for stations
• How to add stations to the saved list
• How to return to normal radio operation

MAIN ICs AND MODULES
RDA5807 FM Receiver Module
The RDA5807 is the FM radio receiver used to receive and tune FM stations.
TDA2822 Audio Amplifier
The TDA2822 is the 8-pin audio amplifier IC used to amplify the radio's audio signal for the speaker or audio output.
STC8G1K17 Microcontroller
The STC8G1K17 is the 16-pin microcontroller used to control the radio functions, buttons, display, station management, and configuration settings.
POWER INFORMATION
The radio can be powered using batteries or a 5V USB power source.
Do not use USB power while batteries are installed. Use only one power source at a time.
RADIO CONTROLS
V plus increases the volume.
V minus decreases the volume.
F minus searches downward or moves to the previous saved station.
F plus searches upward or moves to the next saved station.
SETUP MODES
Press and hold V plus and V minus together to enter setup mode.
Press and hold F minus and F plus together to enter station list management mode.
Press and hold V plus and F plus together to rescan all available stations.
SN RECEPTION THRESHOLD
The SN setting controls the reception threshold.
The adjustment range is 0 to 15, with a default value of 4.
Lower values may receive more stations, including weak or invalid signals.
Higher values help reduce weak or poor-quality stations.
POWER-SAVING MODE
The PO setting controls power-saving mode.
0 = Off
1 = On
When enabled, the digital display will turn off after approximately 13 seconds of inactivity. Press any button to turn the display back on.
SIGNAL STRENGTH DISPLAY
The DP setting controls the signal strength display.
0 = Off
1 = On
When enabled, the display alternates between the station frequency and the signal strength.
STATION LIST MANAGEMENT
In station list management mode, you can manually change the frequency, search for stations, add stations to the saved list, and move between previously saved stations.
Stations found during a manual search are not automatically added to the list. Press and hold V plus to add the current station.
